JOIN THE C.L.I.C. PROJECT !

Welcome to all students of the English programs at UQAM!

This blog is your playground. It is a safe place to share your stories, your experiences, your knowledges and advices as well as your creativity on cultural and linguistic matters and on issues of identity and community. 

Short stories, essays, articles and more are welcome to be submitted! 

Topic examples: 
  • Personal stories (Why I am here; why I am at UQAM; How I got here; Where I am now) 
  • Learning a 2nd, 3rd or 4th language 
  • Canadian and Quebec society and culture
  • LGBTQ culture/Immigrating here as a LGBTQ person 
  • French-English rivalries 
  • Learning English in a French environment 
  • Adjusting to a new/different life in Quebec
  • Culture shock
  • Advices as a student, a newcomer or a single parent
  • Unexpected successes/challenges
  • Being an insider/outsider
  • Etc.
Submissions conditions :
  • It must be in English
  • It must be about the topics above
  • It must contain less than a 1000 words
Submission period is between September and May
Never fear! Whether your English is beginner or advanced, we have a team to help and work with you.
